The brief: A feminist anti-racist organisation supporting Black, minoritised, and migrant women needed to strengthen its digital visibility through human-centred storytelling and accessible public-facing communications.

 

What I delivered:

  • Full ownership of the LinkedIn content pipeline from strategy through to publication

  • Content pillars and a weekly posting rhythm that the team could sustain independently

  • Long reports translated into plain-language, audience-friendly social content

  • Short-form video scripts designed for clarity and shareability

  • Public-facing communications connecting the organisation's work to funders, local authorities, community members, and supporters

  • Web and social media content supporting two major campaigns: "Why Do I Have to Hide Away?" and "Stories of Colour"

 

Results

  • +1,068% engagement in one month

  • +140% follower growth in six months

The brief: A multi-site international research programme needed public engagement and knowledge translation to ensure climate-health findings reached policy and public audiences, not just academic ones.

 

What I delivered:

  • Led public engagement and knowledge translation activities across the full programme

  • Developed digital communication strategies for research dissemination

  • Coordinated stakeholder communications across multiple international research sites

  • Created public-facing web and social media content, translating climate-health evidence for non-specialist audiences

  • Supported the programme's ability to demonstrate public-facing impact to its funder

  • Built a consistent public engagement presence where none had previously existed

  • First consistent public engagement presence established for the programme

  • Findings reached policy and public audiences beyond academic channels

Solo-Authored Paper to Multi-Format Campaign

The brief: After publishing a solo-authored paper on the gap between health research and public understanding, I used it as a live demonstration of research translation in practice.

 

What I delivered:

  • Extracted the core argument from an eight-page, fifty-reference academic paper

  • Wrote a plain-language LinkedIn article accessible to non-specialist audiences

  • Designed a one-page key findings brief for policy leads and programme managers

  • Built a five-post LinkedIn campaign, each post serving a different strategic purpose

  • Created a visual carousel explaining the four steps of research translation

  • Delivered the full campaign in one focused sprint

 

Results

  • 4,347 impressions in 14 days

  • 2,287 people reached

  • 138 engagements (109 reactions, 21 comments, 8 saves)

  • One paper reached three distinct audiences: researchers, professionals, and policy leads

    Designed and built a partnership website from concept to launch for a Teesside University multi-institutional research collaboration. Translated a complex cross-continental partnership into a clear, navigable digital experience for funders, researchers, and university leadership.

    Co-authored three peer-reviewed publications on digital health communication for oral cancer awareness. Led community engagement for an mHealth app randomised controlled trial and designed data collection instruments, ensuring at-risk community voices shaped the final tool.

    Solo-authored paper in the Journal of Global Health Economics and Policy. Co-authored publications in BMC Oral Health, Scientific Reports and F1000Research. Active peer reviewer since September 2024 across studies covering cervical cancer screening, mobile health interventions, and refugee healthcare access.

    Content Strategy TravelWithAuntie

    Built a travel brand entirely from scratch: identity, website, SEO,  Instagram content strategy, WhatsApp community, and trip marketing campaigns. Content quality was so high that audiences regularly assume a professional designer was behind it.
